Tortuga Booking was founded by David Kuhlmann back in 2015, to express the love for live-music and connecting regional bands and audience in a range between Post Rock/Metal and varieties of Indie and Alternative. With a DIY spirit and support from friends, the first shows took place at the rehearsal caves from Unterschichten Records, a music studio, where bands could do their recordings for little money.
During the next years the shows expanded to local clubs. I.e. the One-Day Post Rock Festival „Longsound“, or several Single-Shows with bands like The Ocean, Telepathy, Lo!, Red Apollo, Grim Van Doom, Terraformer and many more. From 2018 Tortuga Booking started to collaborate with Unaussprechliche Culthe in Münster and Heavy Bremen, to extend its’ own ratio and perspectives. While still close to the local music-scenes, the network and contact to dedicated and passionate people grew, that are sharing the same spirit. Yeah, you might have noticed, the musical horizon has widened through this and keeps on doing so.
With a lot of support from friends, promoters and bands, tourdates for Implore, Ultha, Wiegedood, OM, Ahab, My Sleeping Karma, Amenra, Skeletal Remains, Imperial Triumphant, Bell Witch and many more were hosted in Münster and Bremen. Even before the pandemic, David became part of the Hellseatic Open Air-Crew, who created a new festival for Northwest germany out of nothing, that was celebrated in fall 2021 for the first time.
Since 2025, Tortuga Booking has started to promote concerts in the Rhein Main Region and is committed to expanding its network there while remaining active and connected in Bremen and Münster.
